About Nick Brightman Photography

Pleased to meet you!

I’m Nick,  a pretty chilled, coffee-drinking, roller-coaster-loving, vegetarian.

I love photographing weddings for couples who don’t take themselves too seriously or feel the need to stick tradition just for the sake of it.

Something that I seem to have in common with quite a lot of my couples, is that I’m not a big fan of having my photograph taken — as evidenced by this one my Dad took when I was a baby!!

But I think that’s influenced by approach to photography, trying to blend in so that I capture moments unnoticed, hidden in plain sight.

About Nick Brightman Photography

Born to Photograph!

You could say I was born to be a photographer as my Dad was one too, both professionally (as an Industrial Photographer in Sheffield) and as his lifelong passion and hobby.

I was given my first camera when I was six!

However, my career for many years was in hospitality, working as a manger in pubs and restaurants, before deciding to become a Wedding Photographer in 2014.

My previous job was the perfect foundation for what I do now as it was all about people, and observing human behaviour.

Getting married and starting a family of my own has also given me a whole new perspective on life which I has influenced my work.

Here are a few favourite family photos

A Few Random Things About me

I proposed on a Gondola in Venice — and nearly fell in — they are surprisingly wobbly!

My wife didn’t know where we were going on honeymoon until we got to the airport. It made her getting vaccinated interesting!

I’ve visited 38 countries (at the last count) and 5 continents. Really hard to pick favourites but LOVE Italy, Vietnam and India

“The best decision we made was hiring Nick, he was an all round lovely guy right from start to finish.

The photos from the Big Day are truly beautiful and at times bring us to tears (Happy Tears!).

They tell our love story perfectly and we cannot thank you enough.”
