What is this ‘Hybrid Approach’ of which you speak?”, I hear you cry!

Do you like the idea of see­ing the high­lights of your wed­ding day in motion, as well as in pho­tographs? You want pho­tos (obvs!) but also want to see the move­ment of the day too.

Noth­ing staged, noth­ing cheesy, noth­ing that turns your wed­ding into a film set — just lit­tle moments from the day edit­ed into a short film so you can see peo­ple mov­ing, and relive the highlights

Hybrid means me doing both!

Nick was the best pho­tog­ra­ph­er we could have dreamed of to cap­ture our wedding. 

He was amaz­ing to have around on our wed­ding day, bring­ing fan­tas­tic ener­gy and help­ing to keep the whole day on track. 

The pho­tos real­ly cap­ture the mag­ic of the day and he also cap­tured a bril­liant video which means we can relive the day for years to come

What it is

A lo-fi, unob­tru­sive way to record all the best bits and the feel­ing of the day

Short clips record­ed along­side tak­ing photos

An edit­ed high­light trail­er set to music, to get all the good stuff 

A great alter­na­tive if you don’t want to spend the dough on a video­g­ra­ph­er, or have all those extra cam­eras point­ed at you

What it isn’t

A big pro­duc­tion with lots of extra cam­eras, tripods and mics in your face — I’m not try­ing to com­plete with Hollywood!

The same as a video­g­ra­ph­er – If you want a full wed­ding video, with audio too, you can hire a video­g­ra­ph­er for all the bells and whistles

Cheesy, awk­ward and “stare into each oth­ers eyes for ten min­utes” weirdness

What is hybrid wedding photography?

Hybrid wed­ding pho­tog­ra­phy com­bines my relaxed wed­ding pho­tog­ra­phy with video high­lights, offer­ing a singing and danc­ing record of your wed­ding day.

How does hybrid photography differ from regular photography?
That’s the great thing about it, it doesn’t!

You still get exact­ly the same doc­u­men­tary, relaxed wed­ding pho­tog­ra­phy, but you also get a high­lights video too.

How can you take photos AND video at the same time??!
Sim­ple answer — two cam­eras! (and some­times using a top qual­i­ty mobile phone too)

Quite a few of the exam­ple high­light films above where shot using a phone, mount­ed on top of my camera. 

But most of the day I can quick­ly use my cam­eras to record shot clips of video with­out miss­ing any of the action photographically

Why choose hybrid wedding photography?
As the advert used to say (maybe it still does??!), ‘Why take two bot­tles into the shower’

Cou­ples often choose me to pho­to­graph their wed­ding because they like my can­did, incon­spic­u­ous approach. 

Rather than hav­ing a sec­ond per­son there doing video, you can have me doing both!
